last year moscow records set up sub-label moss co and each release so far has introduced a new set of artists. for this third release it is nu zau, aka stefan gabriel zamfir and loopdeville, aka d zlatinov. nu zau debuted on fear of flying in 2012 and his 2013 was prolific with seven releases added to his name. he provides an 11-minute drum track, *cumse cuvine*, that is filled with kooky and super minimal, squeaks, tweets and vocal samples, a fine production. loopdevilles kick drum on *piance* in comparison to zaus a-side is standout, and here he provides a cold and moody track designed for those deeper moments of the night. it is the london-based producers third release after debuting in 2013 with two 12 inches, one of which, phantasmagoria, inaugurated new label delooped.

publicist is longtime producer/performer/musician sebastian thomson. his tracks approach house music from a darker angle, adding processed vocals and noise to a raw foundation that also takes cues from new beat, acid house, and detroit techno. when performing live publicist sequences the synths and not the drums, preferring to play an electronically treated drum kit in the middle of the dance floor. this adds an element of sweat, excitement and virtuosity not found in most electronic producer s live performances. sebastian thomson is also known as a founding member of post rock pioneers trans am and as the drummer of heavy metal innovators baroness. living in brooklyn by way of buenos aires, washington dc and london, publicist has spent the last four years touring europe extensively.

hot city orchestra is a reformation of a band, which was originally formed in 1998. at the age of 17, arno völker (einzelkind) and simon birkenfeld became friends and started making drum and bass music together. they toured all over germany with their record label and had residencies at robert johnson in offenbach and tanzhaus west in frankfurt. after gaining years of experience within the breakbeat scene, arno went on to become einzelkind with releases on playhouse, cocoon, white and his own imprints la peña, jax and pressure traxx as well as worldwide dj gigs. simon was still focusing on his breakbeat career for another year, making an album with a uk drum and bass legend, but it was never released. he stopped making music and started focusing on his career in pr and marketing, where he mostly worked on music and art projects. during this time, the long-time friends arno and simon came up with the idea to launch the blog-network-project www.disco-very. net now, 16 years later, after making first beats together, the boys are back! a tiny bit older, much wiser, more handsome and around 50 bpm slower.

*somebody* is the first single from the new aurra album *body rock* due out later this year on family groove records. once again the world gets to experience a lost disco-funk masterpiece providing another glimpse into the genius mind of slave founding-member steve washington & brides of funkenstein / p-funk singer sheila horne. body rock will be the second and final unearthing of the lost but found master tapes originally recorded for quincy jones qwest imprint in 1984. slap bass, heavy synths, linn drum, sultry vocals... this is modern funk at its finest!
the 24-track master tapes were transferred digitally and then mixed on an ssl board by kamal humphrey at his all-analog flying carpet studios in los angeles. the result is a full sound enhanced by the natural analog process using todays digital technology only when needed to clean up the files.
da-m-funk adds a bit of dirt and grime by putting his signature re-freak on the track. a confirmation from los angeles ambassador of boogie funk that this is in fact the the un-cut funk and nothing but the funk.

launching after the seminal tambacounda ep clap! clap! drops 2 works carved from the same tree as the soon to come long player. buck is a customary quick-step drum workout where the world both modern and ancient collides to create an explosive oldworld sci-fi b-boy stomper. on the flip ichnusa is a more dreamy psyched out acid voyage across the planes.

geophone returns with a four track various artists ep curated by the label boss mike parker. the a side begins with new artist eastern renaissance, who delivers a melodic and acidic dreamscape in classic form. mike parker continues this science fictional atmosphere with his contribution, *night of 21 hours* with whirling analogue sequences that remind us of flying saucers and outer space. the b side moves in a harder direction with echologists buzzing and bleeping syncopations backed with heavy drum programming. the always surprising stanislav tolkachev concludes the ep with a track that pushes the boundaries, reflecting his unique interpretation of techno music.

at its very first start, the new label founded by conrad van orton proposes a vinyl of his own with two original tracks on the a side, november and captivity archives. and two great remixers such as vsk and the mysterious annuled user on the other. just as the needle starts to mark the passage, the classic four quarters give life to a beat that between one step and another compresses catapulting reality in a classic industrial scenario of mid-autumn where the clear sky gets marked by black and deep plots. a background noise accompanies the whole programming part of the drumming that gives off a relentless pace. on the a side captivity archives reconfirms the industrial nature of cvo with a look towards distant galaxies ..... with the needle still hot we turn around the record to the b side. here we find the vsk remix with a more ambient and crystal clear sound. to the original drum, vsk, choose an equally technical percussion. all home made. last but not least the contribution given by annulled user. trademark? techno! .. and there is nothing here to mess about with. 4/4 dry, hard which feel anger and rebellion desire. the kick, fairly present, is ripped apart by some demonic filters. the 5.30 min of annulled user are a reminiscence of the 90s.

since the release of tesselas r&s debut, nancys pantry, the momentum has snowballed. earning a radio 1 residency alongside james blake, and a busy gigging schedule, tessela aka ed russell now offers up *rough 2* – the eagerly anticipated next instalment of his alchemic blend of tripped out sonics and punishing percussion. russell has amplified the disorientating elements that swim around the fragmented drum breaks and squirting laser blasts, challenging dancefloors at the same time as tearing them up.

for the fourth instalment of our limited white label series we welcome the mysterious parisian producer crackboy. sporadically crawling from the depths of the citys underbelly to deliver prime, raw house cuts he has graced the likes of tigersushi, get the curse and i m a cliche with musical snapshots of darkness and light. crackboys latest is very much the soundtrack to the summer… the cheeky off track heats the soul and soles as our feet and body are unable to resist the pounding kick-drum and purple samples. this is set to leave a crackboy sized imprint on the summer of 2014.

mr saag is back for his third release on local talk, *in the box* and this time he went all in. this 12 provides a meaty affair with firm drums, well-treated vocal snippets, organ hooks and the works. the opening track *in the box* uses strong synth stabs to full effect and the marriage of percussive and crunchy rhythms in this track is saag at his best. it is so good we decided to include a drum track of it too! *suddenly i woke up* is basement house with organ hook, afro percussive rhythms and a bassline from the deep depths of detroit.
